My little mama

Ever since Catherine was about 10 months old she has attached herself to baby dolls. It's truly the cutest thing ever. You give her a baby doll and she buries her face in its face while hugging it and then proceeds to carry it with her everywhere. I shared this with one of her daycare teachers and she told me that she tends to do this at daycare too. She will find a particular doll or stuffed animal and cling to it for the day and fight off any other little tot that comes near it!!! I hope that she is this loving and protective of her own children when she becomes a mother herself (which of course will be when she is about 30 years old) :)

Kids Cover Event

Being like most mothers, I believe my daughters are the most beautiful girls and should be discovered for their unique beauty!!! In an attempt to do so, I for the second time (and should have learned my lesson the first time), registered Charlotte for one of our local Parents magazine "Kids Cover Events" to get that, what I think is a 100% chance of making it.....in reality, out of the hundreds of kids there, there was about 1% chance or less, but mom's don't think that way when it comes their children, now do we?!!

Well, we had prepared her the best we could and she truly seemed excited. When it was our turn to send her across this stage to talk to one of the judges, she got a little scared, but we pushed her anyway. I preceded to walk around the back of the stage to meet her on the other side and her daddy went around to the front, well when she looked back for us, we were gone. True stupidity on our part, now that we look back on it, well the end result is what you could image....she broke down crying and of course a second chance at this point truly wasn't an option, she was way too upset. I was upset as any parent would be, but mainly at myself.

It didn't take long for the personality I was hoping they would see return to this perky loving little girl. Here she is at the restaurant we went to afterwards imitating Buzz Light Year (from Toy Story)......"to infinity and beyond"....how could anyone not want that face on their magazine?!!!

Bed Hog

At almost 4 years old our little Charlotte still manages to end up in our bed most nights. Don't get me wrong, I would prefer for her to stay in her bed, and I know I should put her back in her bed once she falls back asleep, but when it's the middle of the night, your in a dead sleep and you have to get up before the sun, that's the last thing you wanta do, so she stays.

Now we are not talking about that little tot that curls up in the bed snuggled perfectly in between mommy and daddy. Nooooo, she manages to end up horizontal with her feet in my face and her daddy pushed out of the bed to the point he goes and sleeps in her bed. Now the photo below doesn't do her nightly positions justice. Of course when I get my camera out to document this little stinker being the bed hog she is, she curles up slightly looking like the sweet angel she (usual) is.

Little Swimmer

Charlotte is now in the last couple of days of her 2 week long swim lesson at the "Y". I am happy to report that she is doing much better than we could have expected. She volunteers to do everything and has even managed to win her teacher over. After every class, her teacher (Miss Katherine) will take ONLY her back out for one more lap!!! Last night she came home so proud of herself as she should be. She floated on her back in the deep end all by herself :) Giving her a bath last night lasted beyond the skin turning into prunes phase, as she had to practice her floating for nearly 45 minutes.

Sister Love

When God blesses you with your first child you truly believe that you could never love another child as much as you love this one. Then, you have another child and through his amazing work you find yourself loving this child as much as you do the first. But, what truly touches me is the love our two daughters share for each other, even at such young ages. May God bless them with love like this their entire lives.
